Blind Assassin

The Blind Assassin - Margaret Atwood I LOVED this book the first time I read it. It left behind such pleasant memories that I decided it was one of those books I will hunt down and read again and again.

Big mistake.

Maybe, it's coz there was a gap of some ten years in between the two readings - ten years in which I moved from my teens to my late twenties - but, I couldnt for the life of me recall what I loved so much.

Yes, still the consummate storytelling, characteristic of Atwood, but I didnt experience half the emotions I did the the first time round.

Am rating it two because of the let down it was the second time I read it. But, if I be honest, the book deserves a three-star rating at least :|

Maybe, I shouldnt re-read Alias Grace and A Handmaiden's Tale.
