The River of Lost Footsteps: A Personal History of Burma

The River Of Lost Footsteps: A Personal History Of Burma - Thant Myint-U Very well-written in a clear, lucid style. Simple prose. Heartfelt book and you know the author loves, understands and feels for his country. Though I do wish the blueprint he proposed to put Burma back on the map had more clarity. What he stated was more a wishlist.

It was also a little confusing trying to get a handle on the various parties involved in teh civil war, so I gave up a bit at that point. But, that was more to do with the complex, internecine nature of the conflict than a reflection of the author's presentation.

An excellent read.
